Eduardo Marques

In search of waves, Eduardo moved to Southern California in 2000. From his garage he learned to shape boards by hand and the following year, Soul Surfboards was born. After honing his craft, he set off on a six year surf journey around the globe. Spending extended periods of time in Indonesia to discovering secret spots in Mexico, Eduardo Marques learned not only about the importance of the board but also the importance of the type of wave that it would be ridden in. When he returned to his home country of Brasil, he set up a handcrafted studio in the small village of Costa de Lagoa, Florianopoilis. The natural surroundings inspired him to dig deeper into surfings core which gave way to radical and classic surfboard design.

As a shaper, Eduardo has had the opportunity to test his boards in various surf conditions and breaks around the world. He returns annually to the Mentawai Islands as a surf guide and invests himself deeply into the global surf culture. His craft and style have morphed into the surf brand “Mosai”, The perfect representation of Eduardo’s mantra in surfing and life.
